Local golf:Jones, Sorrell and Gleason take first place

The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a three-best-ball net strokes game Wednesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

First place went to the team of Dennis Jones, Don Sorrell and Dave Gleason.

Second place went to the team of Leroy Harper, Don Wells, Eddie Johnson and Al Pannell.

Third place went to the team of Paul Payne, Warren Jahn, Jerry Ermlich and Lee Bowers.

Fourth place went to the team of Joe Kolesar, J. B. Johnston, Gary Palmer and Johnny Little. Fifth place went to the team A.J. Kiker, Larry Cohan, Dick Freeman and Don Graff. Sixth place finished in a tie between the team of Gene Weschler, Rob Boetz, Carlyle Cox and Wayne Nelson and the team of Bill Ingram, Bill Hardman, Ron Hopley and John T. Smith.

Closest to the pin winners were Ingram (No. 3), Nelson (No. 5), Gleason (No. 12) and Denny Momper (No. 17).

The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played this week at Chestatee Golf Course.

First place finished in a tie between the team of Bud Black, Royce Deaton Ken Chahoy and Stan Davidson Sr., and the team of Gene Weschler, Frank House, Doug Van and Gerald Gailey. Third place went to the team of Stan Davidson Jr., Larry Miller, Keith Fitzgerald and Jerry Johns.

Closest to the pin winners were Miller (No. 3), House (No. 7), Davidson Sr. (No. 11), Fitzgerald (No. 15) and Sam McGee (No. 17).

The Wednesday Dogfight golf group played this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

First place finished in a tie between the team of Jeff Fraiser, Terry Clegg, Jerry Horton and Lori Clark, and the team of Roger Stapp, Frank Bambarger, Bill Jorgenson and Keith Fitzgerald.
Bambarger and Clegg tied for first in individual play. Clark finished third and Mile Tilson finished fourth.
