East Hall’s Kara Hix tallied 28 digs to bring her season total to 741, breaking a state record set in 2004 as the Lady Vikings lost to West Hall (25-18, 26-24) before beating Cross Keys (25-3, 25-11) on Tuesday in Roswell, bringing the team their first area tournament win in school history. Hix also added 16 service points, seven aces and four assists for East Hall (29-13, 4-5), and Brittney Campbell had 30 assists, 25 service points, 11 digs, 10 aces and three kills. Tarryn Long recorded 18 kills, 16 digs, an ace and a pair of assists.
