North Oconee got its final kick through and Riverside Military Academy didn't as the Titans took a 23-21 football victory on Friday night in Bogart.

Riverside (3-1) put together a late drive, and thanks to a penalty against the Titans, had two tries to make a game-winning field goal as time expired. But both attempts failed and the Eagles suffered their first loss of the season.

James Pinkerton kicked a career-long 40-yard field goal with just over four minutes to play to put North Oconee on top. Riverside then drove downfield for a chance at the win.

The Eagles had what looked like a 21-yard game-winning touchdown pass erased by an offensive pass interference call.

Riverside kicker Ahmad Chehab then missed from 42 yards, but the Titans were flagged for running into the kicker and he was given another chance 5 yards closer. The kick seemed to get caught in in the wind and sailed wide right.

RMA quarterback Lucas Bersin completed 14 of 15 passes for 178 yards to lead the Eagles' comeback. Julian Suber rushed for all three Eagle touchdowns.

Marcus Alford rushed for 95 yards on 16 carries and Brandon Whitlock had 91 yards rushing for North Oconee (3-1). Quarterback Shawn Zornig comepleted a 16-yard touchdown pass and rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown for the Titans.

North Oconee visits Banks County at 7 p.m. Friday in Homer.

Riverside plays host to East Jackson at 7 p.m. Friday in Gainesville.
