North Hall senior Josh Wright singled twice, doubled and had an RBI in a 9-1 win for the Trojans against Lumpkin County on Wednesday night in Dahlonega. He also picked up his sixth win this season on the mound with four strikeouts.
Taylor Daniels doubled and drove in two runs for the Trojans (11-5, 8-4 Region 7-AAA). Jake Canipe and Nathan Strong each had two RBIs and Josh Haymore drove in another run for North Hall.
Tyler Trammell led the Indians (8-7, 6-6 Region 7-AAA) with two hits and a run.
North Hall plays host to Chestatee at 7 p.m. Friday at Jody Davis Field. Lumpkin County entertains West Forsyth at 5:45 p.m. Friday in Cumming.
Gainesville 14, Johnson 1
Max Joseph led the Red Elephants with a three-run home run and four RBIs on Wednesday at Ivey-Watson Field. He also pitched a complete game for Gainesville (12-4, 11-1 Region 7-AAA).
Charlie Newman was 2-for-2 and Robby Hefflinger added a home run for the Red Elephants.
Gainesville visits Flowery Branch at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Hog Mountain Sports Complex. Johnson (6-10, 3-9 Region 7-AAA) plays host to East Hall at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Flowery Branch 8, Chestatee 1
Travis Coxworth led the Falcons with two doubles and an RBI on Wednesday night in Gainesville.
Patrick Henry, Bucky Free and Cameron Wilson each singled with an RBI for Flowery Branch (14-2, 10-2 Region 7-AAA).
Mason Roberts picked up the win for the Falcons with seven strikeouts.
Matt Odle led the War Eagles (2-12, 1-11 Region 7-AAA) at the plate with two hits.
Flowery Branch plays host to Gainesville at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Hog Mountain Sports Complex. Chestatee visits North Hall at 7 p.m. Friday at Jody Davis Field.
White County 6, Gilmer 4
Brantley Gee pitched a complete game for the Warriors with five strikeouts on Wednesday night in Cleveland.
Bart Westmoreland, Kevin Frederick and Travis Rutkiewicz each went 2-for-3 for White County (9-7, 7-5 Region 7-AAA). Josh Ingram had a double and an RBI and Jesse Brown hit a home run for the Warriors.
White County visits Pickens at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
West Hall 7, West Forsyth 5
Josh Preston pitched a complete game for the Spartans with five strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with an RBI at the plate on Wednesday night in Cumming.
Matt Boone led West Hall at the plate with a run and three RBIs. Matt Ginn was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored and Scott Eichler was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Spartans (6-10, 5-7 Region 7-AAA).
West Hall visits Gilmer at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Ellijay.
East Hall 11, Pickens 9
Chris Cornett pitched four innings in relief allowing one earned run to pick up the win for the Vikings (5-11, 4-8 Region 7-AAA) on Wednesday night.
Cody Davidson had a triple, single and three RBIs for East Hall.
Wesley Johns had three singles and an RBI and Drew Adams had two hits and two RBIs for the Vikings.
East Hall visits Johnson at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
