South Carolina signee Maria Petroni scored three goals and had two assists for Class AA’s No. 3 ranked Lady Wolves (4-1-1, 2-0 Region 6A-AA) in their 5-2 win against Providence Christian on Wednesday night in Buford.
Justine Clay and Haley Holderfield each scored a goal for Buford. Rachael Kaplan made eight saves in goal for the Lady Wolves.
Buford plays host to No. 6 ranked Greater Atlanta Christian at 5 p.m. Friday.
Chestatee girls 12, Gilmer 0
The Lady War Eagles (3-2, 1-0 Region 7A-AAA) didn’t need much time to seal a victory on Wednesday, scoring eight goals in the first half en route to a blowout win over Gilmer in Gainesville.
Daniela Sotelo scored three goals for Chestatee. Megan Fligg added two goals and had an assists. Kasey Smith also had two goals for the Lady War Eagles.
Eight different Chestatee players scored on only 38 total shots. The Bobcats managed only two shots the entire game.
Chestatee visits West Forsyth at 6 p.m. on Friday in Cumming.
Chestatee boys 11, Gilmer 1
Alejandro Gonzalez scored four goals for the War Eagles (4-2, 2-0 Region 7A-AAA) in their win against Gilmer on Wednesday night in Gainesville.
Emmanuel Ibarra contributed with three goals for Chestatee. Kevin Stradley, Daniel Ruiz, Evan Lawalin and Eric Benitez each scored a goal for the War Eagles.
Juan Lopez scored the lone goal for the Bobcats.
Chestatee travels to West Forsyth at 8 p.m. Friday.
BASEBALL
North Hall 3, North Forsyth 2
Josh Wright picked up the win for the Trojans (2-1) by striking out seven and allowing one walk, six hits, and no earned runs on Wednesday at Jody Davis Field. Jordan Pendley pitched a scoreless seventh inning to record the save for North Hall.
Taylor Daniels led North Hall at the plate with a single, double and one run scored. K.J. McAllister, Graham Duncan and Josh Haymore each drove in a run for the Trojans.
Ethan Miers led the Raiders at the plate with two hits.
The Trojans play host to Buford at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Parkview 9, East Hall 1
The Panthers scored runs in each inning of their win over East Hall (1-2) on Wednesday in Lilburn.
Jimmy Byers led East Hall with a 2-for-4 night at the plate with two stolen bases.
The Vikings travel to Stephens County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Tennis
Gainesville boys 3, Johnson 2
Ryan Joiner and James Wassel each won singles matches for the Red Elephants (5-0) on Wednesday night in Gainesville.
Gainesville also earned a win in doubles matches from No. 1 pair of Graham Williams and Louis Hokayem.
Seth Hester was the only singles winner for Johnson. William Anthony and Scott Allan won at No. 2 doubles for the Knights.
The Red Elephants play host to West Forsyth at 4 p.m. today at Longwood Park. Johnson travels to Flowery Branch at 4 p.m. today.
North Hall girls 5, White County 0
Cara Reece, Hayley Crowder and Mary Beth Brown swept singles matches for North Hall (6-0, 3-0 Region 7-AAA) in straight sets en route to a win over White County on Wednesday night in Gainesville.
In doubles, Lauren Bolton/Courtney Wiley and Rachel Langman/Jessica Butts each won for the Lady Trojans.
North Hall visits to Gilmer at 4 p.m. Thursday.
White County boys 3, North Hall 2
Thomas Flowers and Matt Ball each won singles matches for the Warriors in a win over North Hall on Wednesday.
White County’s Mitch Bardenwarper and Nick Maeder won at No. 1 doubles. North Hall’s (2-3, 2-1 Region 7A-AAA) Jack Hortenstine and Joe Nedza won at No. 2 doubles.
North Hall travels to Gilmer at 4 p.m. Thursday.

North Hall 158, Lumpkin County 173
Jimmy Lloyd was the low medallist for the Trojans carding a 37 in their win against Lumpkin County on Wednesday at the Chestatee Golf Course in Dawsonville.
Landry Haynes shot a 38, Derek Watson carded a 40 and Roger Nash had a 43 for North Hall.
Everett Huntsinger led the Indians with a 39.
North Hall faces West Hall at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at Royal Lakes.
