Thanks to some clutch free-throw shooting in the game’s waning minutes, Heritage Academy emerged with a 59-58 win over Horizon in a back-and-forth battle in Cumming on Tuesday.

Heritage (16-8) trailed by one point at halftime and at the end of the third quarter, but took the lead and kept it as Nathan Owens went 5-for-6 from the free throw line down the stretch.

Heritage’s Andrew Porter led all scorers with 33 points. Nathan Roszel finished with eight points for Heritage and Owens finished with seven.

Heritage returns to action at 8:30 p.m. Friday when they travel to Woodstock to take on Crown.
