Nine players from the 2008 Class AA state champion Buford High softball team were honored by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association on Saturday.

Alysha Rudnik was named the Class AA State Player of the Year after batting .485 with 33 runs and 32 RBIs this season.

Whitney Holman, Chelsie Thomas and Melissa Dickie represented the Lady Wolves on the All-State First Team.

Karly Fullem, Kallie Case and Lexi Overstreet were named to the All-State Second Team. Samantha Ramey and Whitney Wolfe were named as honorable mentions.

Additionally, Holman was selected as the Georgia Dugout Club Class AA Player of the Year and was selected to play in the GACA North-South All-Star Game.
