Lakeview Academy senior pitcher Ralston Cash was one of three signees to the University of Georgia’s baseball program Tuesday.

As a junior, Cash posted a 9-0 record with a 0.97 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 57 1/3 innings for the Lions. He was The Times’ 2009 Baseball Player of the Year, and Region 8-A Pitcher of the Year.

Cash batted .466 with nine home runs and 48 RBIs as the cleanup hitter last season for the Lions.

Also signing with the Bulldogs were pitcher Jeff Shields, a sophomore at Chattahoochee Valley Community College (Ala.), and outfielder Conor Welton, a senior at Wesleyan High.
