Jackson Bishop leads by 4 shots at Gainesville City Golf Championship

Gainesville High graduate Jackson Bishop holds a four-shot lead heading into the second round of the Gainesville City Championship, after carding a 4-under par 68 Friday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course in Gainesville.

Tied for second place are Gainesville High graduates Lawson King and Nathan Williams, who both shot even-par 72.

Bishop and King will play for Western Carolina University in the fall, while Williams will be playing for Georgia State.

The second round is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. today. The Championship Flight is a 54-hole event played over the weekend.

Former tournament champions include Will Peeples (73), Morgan Nix (76) and Sam Hulsey (76).
