HS Scoreboard: East Hall girls and boys basketball pick up wins in out-of-state tournaments
East Hall girls win in the South Florida Holiday Shootout; East Hall boys win at West Ashley Classic

The East Hall Lady Vikings defeated Grandview Prep (Fla.) 77-58 Tuesday morning in the South Florida Holiday Shootout in Miami.

The Lady Vikings were headed by Carly Winters and Jenny Edwards who scored 26 and 21 points respectively.

East Hall junior Kylah Mize added 14 points.

East Hall (9-2) next plays Chestatee on Monday in the Lanierland tournament at Johnson High.

EAST HALL BOYS 73, ST. JAMES (S.C.) 58: Tylor Brown paced the Vikings with 21 points Tuesday at the West Ashley Classic in Charleston, SC.

East Hall’s Triston Cooper netted 16 points, Mahki Brown had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds and Luke Cooper added 11 points.

East Hall (7-3) next plays Lakeview Academy on Monday in the Lanierland tournament.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 53, DISCOVERY 13: The Lady Trojans’ Taylor Anne Kelley had 17 points Tuesday night in Lawrenceville.

Eleven players scored for North Hall.

North Hall (6-3) faces Lakeview Academy at noon Monday in the first round of the Lanierland.

DISCOVERY BOYS 61, NORTH HALL 59: Senior Carson Heinen led the Trojans with 18 points and fellow senior Harrison Harper added 10 Tuesday night in Lawrenceville.

Discovery’s leading scorer was Andrew Moore with 13 points.

North Hall (6-3) faces an opponent still to be determined in the opening round of Lanierland on Monday.

BUFORD GIRLS 56, MILLER GROVE 36: Jessica Nelson scored 17 points to led the Lady Wolves Tuesday night at the Woodward Academy Classic in College Park.

Buford junior Marissa Bruce chipped in with 13 points.

Buford (6-3) next plays Banneker at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Grayson Classic.

SHAW GIRLS 59, CHESTATEE 48: The Lady Eagles were led by Lindsey Caudell’s 28 points Tuesday afternoon in the Shaw Christmas Tournament in Columbus.

Chestatee’s Dawndria Bell added 11 points, while Eramiss Hernandez finished with four.

Chestatee (4-6) faces East Hall at 9 a.m. Monday in the opening round of the Lanierland.

Wrestling

Chestatee placed first in the Amicalola Classic on Tuesday at Dawson County High.

David Domingo, Gavin Cunningham, Marvin Cunningham, Matthew McClellan, Isaac Alarcon, Jonathan Castillo and Gavin London all finished first in their respective weight classes for the War Eagles.

Anthony Aguilar, Garrett Brader and Paco Rebollar finished second in their classes. Sergio Alcala finished third and Parker Erickson had a fourth-place finish.
