Chanel Lear and Gabrielle Burke had a combined 25 assists for Flowery Branch in wins over Winder-Barrow (25-16, 25-11) and East Hall (25-18, 11-25, 25-20) on Thursday in Winder.

Colleen Grider added 15 kills and eight aces for the Lady Falcons, Autumn Luken had seven kills and Jessie Justice had six digs.

Flowery Branch returns to action against Oconee County and Heritage on Tuesday in Flowery Branch.

Brittney Campbell had 47 assists, 10 digs, and eight aces for East Hall (12-5, 2-0 Area 5-AAA) as they defeated Winder-Barrow 25-11, 22-25, 25-13.

Kara Hix recorded 26 digs, five kills, and a pair of aces for the Lady Vikings, and Tarryn Long had 16 digs and 13 kills. Emily Hoggard added 23 kills, 15 digs and a pair of aces, and TT Shelton had 14 kills and four digs.

East Hall travels to Prince Avenue for matches against Eastside, Loganville, Prince Avenue and Walnut Grove on Saturday in Athens.

LAKEVIEW WINS AT TRI-MATCH: The Lady Lions defeated Yeshiva of Atlanta (25-22, 25-12) and Tallulah Falls (25-12, 25-15) on Thursday in Tallulah Falls. Katie White had 17 digs, 11 kills and a pair of aces for Lakeview Academy (14-6), and Kaylee McClendon added seven kills, four aces, four digs and two blocks.

Bailey Towles had 15 assists, 10 aces and four digs. Delaney Jarrett recorded 15 assists, and Shelby Ross added five blocks, three kills, and three aces.

Lakeview visits Athens Academy on Saturday in Athens.

NORTH HALL SWEEPS PAIR: Makenzie Bryant had 12 digs and a pair of aces for North Hall in wins over West Forsyth (18-25, 25-21, 25-18) and Johnson (25-21, 25-16) on Thursday in Gainesville.

Kristina Gregory had 17 assists, 10 kills and a pair of aces for the Lady Trojans, and Sydney Cleveland had seven kills, seven digs, and a pair of aces.

Alesha Lee had seven kills and five blocks, and Allie Staub had five kills, four digs, and two aces. Juliana Paschall had five assists and two kills, and Sarah Yoder had seven blocks and three kills.

North Hall travels to West Hall on Monday in Oakwood.

Kelly Chance recorded nine assists and six aces for Johnson in a win over West Forsyth (25-23, 25-12) and the loss to North Hall.

Savannah Turk had 14 digs and 12 kills for the Lady Knights (10-5, 0-1 Region 8-AAAA), and Lejavian Ratliff had five kills and five digs.

Johnson travels to Lanier for a tri-match with Lumpkin County and Lanier on Tuesday in Sugar Hill.

GAINESVILLE SPLITS TRI-MATCH: Lauren Carter led the Lady Red Elephants with 59 digs on the night a win over Loganville (25-22, 27-25) and a loss to Hart County (25-21, 16-25, 25-18).

Kaylin Walden recorded 32 assists for Gainesville (9-3, 3-0 Region 8-AAAAA), and Anna Walker had 22 kills. Sydney Calkins added a trio of aces.

Gainesville returns to action at home against Lakeview and Apalachee on Tuesday in Gainesville.

BUFORD BEATS PEACHTREE RIDGE: Maggie Roper led Buford with 20 kills and 18 digs against Johns Creek (17-25, 13-25), Peachtree Ridge (25-11, 25-23), and North Gwinnett (18-25, 25-21, 8-25) on Thursday in Johns Creek.

Kaitlin Tatum had 14 kills and 13 digs for Buford (6-8), and Tori Payton had 40 assists. Corbin Farr added 14 digs for the Lady Wolves.

Buford faces Athens Academy on Saturday in Athens.


Kelly Kahlert and Casey Zoeller led Flowery Branch offensively going a combined 4-5 in a 4-2 win over Apalachee on Thursday in Flowery Branch.

Kahlert was 2-2 for the Falcons (10-7, 3-2 Region 8-AAAAA) with a double and a single, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Zoeller was 2-3 at the plate, knocking in three of the four Falcons’ runs.

Jessica Thomas picked up the win from the circle.

Flowery Branch travels to Gainesville on Monday at Lanier Point.

BANKS COUNTY 8, WEST HALL 6: Senior McKenna Rylee led the Lady Leopards at the plate going 3 for 4 with two singles, a two-run home run, four RBIs, and three runs scored against West Hall on Thursday in Homer.

Kaitlyn Stewart was 2 for 4 on the night for Banks County with a pair of singles and a pair of RBIs. Lindsey Elliott was also 2 for 4 with a single, a double, and two RBIs.

Savannah Denton was the winning pitcher for the Lady Leopards.

Banks County returns to action this weekend at the Evans Invitational Tournament in Grovetown.

BUFORD 5, WHITE COUNTY 1: Bria Bush pitched her seventh complete game of the year for the Lady Wolves with nine strikeouts in a win over White County on Thursday in Cleveland.

Drew Puckett led Buford (12-0, 3-0 Region 7-AAA) at the plate, going 1 for 2 with a three-RBI double. Jordan Deep had an RBI double and a run scored for the Lady Wolves, and Niki Cook went 1 for 3 with a run scored and a stolen base.

Buford travels to Allatoona on Saturday in Acworth.

GAINESVILLE 7, JOHNSON 4 (WEDNESDAY): Kayla Street struck out six and pitched a complete game for the Lady Red Elephants (3-13, 1-2 Region 8-AAAAA) in a win over Johnson on Wednesday in Oakwood.

Kaitlyn Roper was 2 for 3 for Gainesville with a pair of RBIs, and Sarah Arenas was 1 for 3 with two RBIs. Rachel Funk was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Johnson travels to Forsyth Central tonight for the Pink Out Tournament in Cumming, and Gainesville returns to action against Loganville on Tuesday in Gainesville.

Cross Country

The North Hall boys and North Forsyth girls won the championship titles at the ninth annual Chestatee War Eagle Invitational on Thursday in Gainesville.

Lakeview finished in second overall in the boys race, and North Forsyth came in third. Chestatee’s boys were fourth, followed by Johnson in fifth.

Chestatee’s girls team was the runner-up, and Union County finished in third place. North Hall girls came in fourth, and Lanier was fifth overall.

North Hall’s Tucker LoCicero was the boys overall winner with a time of 17 minutes, 48.6 seconds. Lochlain Corliss of North Forsyth was the overall winner for the girls, completing the 5K in 20:57.5.

Dustin Snyder from Lakeview was second in the boys race with a time of 18:10, Jeremy Webb of Union County took third, and North Hall’s Quintin Miles was fourth.

In the girls race, Chestatee’s Tori Mullinax and Sarah Beth English finished second and third, respectively.
