The Buford Lady Wolves softball team won 8-0 in six innings against Fannin County on Friday night at Grayson in the Brookwood Invitational.

With three RBIs on the night, Lexi Overstreet broke the school record for RBIs. She went 3 for 3 with a two-run home run — her eighth of the season — a double and also scored three runs for Buford. The Lady Wolves’ Jordan Deep also went 3 for 3, hitting her fifth home run of the year and knocking in two runners.

Buford (19-8) plays in the Brookwood Invitational today.

EAST HALL 3, BANKS COUNTY 2: With the game tied 2-2 and the bases loaded, Holly Strickland was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning to bring in the winning run for the Lady Vikings on Thursday night.

East Hall’s Brittany Gee went 4 for 4 with a run scored and two doubles.

Harlee Grogan totaled nine strikeouts in the winning effort for the Lady Vikings.

East Hall (13-13-1, 3-5 8-AA) plays at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Union County.

Volleyball

Lady Dragons Split at Spikefest: Amanda Daniel led Jefferson with 10 kills, 33 assists and a block in a win against Union Grove 25-18, 25-8 and a loss to Class A/AA No. 10 Savannah Country Day 21-25, 25-16, 15-8.

Taylor Cramsey added two aces, 21 kills and five blocks for the Lady Dragons.

Jefferson (19-6, 4-0 Area 8-AA) continues play in the Ampest Spikefest in Conyers at 8:30 a.m. today.
