The Buford High softball team participated in the Brookwood Invitational on Wednesday night in Loganville, beating Grayson 11-0 and dropping a contest against Northgate 2-1.
Tennessee verbal commit, Lexi Overstreet, led the Lady Wolves offensively in their game versus Class AAAAA Grayson, going 3 for 3 with a two-run home run, five RBIs and three runs scored.
Buford freshman Jordan Deet had a 2 for 3 night with a double and two RBIs and junior Rebekah Rude went 3 for 3 with three runs scored and an RBI.
Senior Kallie Case, who has verbally committed to play at the University of Alabama, went 1 for 2 with three runs scored and three stolen bases against Grayson.
The winning pitcher was freshman Tessa Daniels (9-2). She pitched her eighth complete game and third shutout of the season along with a pair of strikeouts.
In their second game of the night, the Lady Wolves were able to put up only three hits versus Class AAAA No. 4 Northgate. They faced Ashley Clifton, a Georgia Tech verbal commitment, in the pitcher's circle.
Deet had a double, while Case and Rude each singled.
Buford (18-8) will continue play at 5 p.m. Friday night in Loganville, facing fellow Class AA foe Fannin County.
