North Hall won a tri-match against White County (25-2, 25-22) and Monroe Area (25-11, 25-6), improving the Lady Trojans’ record to 14-8 overall and 3-1 in Area 8-AAAA.
Lily Paschall was a bright spot for the Lady Trojans with a 22-point service run, 25 assists and eight aces.
Makenzie Bryant had a nine-point service run of her own, with five aces and 12 digs.
Melissa DeVerter had 13 kills and five blocks. Autumn Turner added eight kills, three aces and three digs. Bly Belcher had five kills and a block.
JEFFERSON TAKES TWO: Jefferson upped its record to 25-5, 4-2 Area 8-AAA with wins over Hart County (25-17, 25-16) and West Hall (25-7, 25-11).
Jefferson will face Morgan County at East Jackson Thursday.
GAINESVILLE TAKES TRI-MATCH: The Lady Red Elephants defeated Lanier (24-26, 25-21, 25-15) and Salem (25-11, 25-13) Tuesday to increase their record to 21-6, 4-0 Area 8-AAAAA.
Savannah Roys recorded seven aces, 31 assists and 14 digs to help Gainesville pick up the two wins.
Sally Callahan and Sydney King both had five aces in the matches. Tanai Watson led the team with 11 kills, while adding 10 digs and four aces.
Gainesville will host Lanier and Pinecrest Academy on Wednesday.
JOHNSON WINS PAIR OF MATCHES: Brittany Barker led Johnson Tuesday with 10 kills and three aces in a straight-sets win over Chestatee (25-15, 25-13) and win against Stephens County (16-25, 25-15, 25-16).
Emma Hernandez and Samantha Summerville each had nine kills for Johnson. Summerville added 18 assists and Hernandez posted a pair of blocks.
Haleigh Williams had seven kills on the night.
Johnson improved to 3-1 in region play.
Johnson hosts White County and Lumpkin County on Thursday.
Chestatee lost to Stephens County (25-18, 25-23).
Chestatee’s Maddie Woodard posted 10 kills and 15 digs. Joanna Dickson had five aces, one kill and eight digs. Anna Bryce Tucker led the team with her seven assists. She also had eight digs, two aces and a kill.
BUFORD 9, WHITE COUNTY 1: Peyton Wolfe pitched a complete game in a run-rule shortened win for the Lady Wolves. She gave up two hits and a pair of walks, while recording six strikeouts and improving her record to 8-0 in the circle.
Samantha Thomas was 2-for-3 with a solo home run in the first inning and a grand slam in the second to pick up a team-leading five RBIs.
Buford’s Kennedy Kotula had a solo home run in the sixth inning. Baylee Sexton was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored, as well.
Buford improved to 14-3, 4-1 8-AAAA.
Next, the Lady Wolves will play in the Brookwood Invitational Tournament. Buford will play Brookwood High at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
EAST HALL 12, WEST HALL 3: Steffanie Redmon had four RBIs on two hits — a single in the first inning and a double in the second Tuesday for the Lady Vikings.
In the pitcher’s circle, Redmon struck out nine hitters and allowed no earned runs on two hits and three walks over six innings.
A six-run first and three-run second boosted East Hall to the win.
East Hall hosts Gainesville on Wednesday. West Hall visits Chestatee on Sept. 23.
EAST HALL 8, DAWSON COUNTY 2: Redmon tallied three RBIs on two hits, including a solo home run in the fifth inning. As a team, the Lady Vikings (10-10, 3-5 7-AAA) had seven hits.
East Hall scored three runs in the third inning with a sacrifice fly from Redmon, an RBI single from Madeline Hall and a sacrifice fly by Kaitlyn Daniel.
Redmon was also a force in the pitcher’s circle, tossing a complete game and giving up five hits and four walks. She recorded 12 strike outs and allowed no earned runs.
