The North Georgia Christian girls basketball team picked up a home win with a 42-25 victory against Mt. Zion of Jonesboro on Thursday in Gainesville.

Sarah Rhodes led the Lady Chargers (9-4) with 11 points, five rebounds and five steals. Hannah Parker and Ashley Valentine each scored nine points for North Georgia Christian. Parker also had a team-high eight rebounds.

North Georgia Christian plays host to Horizon Christian of Cumming at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Mt. Zion Christian boys 61, North Georgia Christian 51

Trey Redmond was the only Charger in double figures, scoring 14 points on Thursday in Gainesville.

Ryan Farmer, Jimmy Smith and Josh Jackson each had nine points for North Georgia Christian.

North Georgia Christian plays host to Horizon Christian of Cumming at 7:30 tonight.

WRESTLING

Riverside goes 1-2 in four-team meet (Tuesday)

The Riverside Military wrestling team participated in its first quad-meet of the season, defeating Johnson 78-6 and losing to Chestatee (42-33) and Flowery Branch (43-35) on Tuesday in Oakwood.

Michael Hilliard (135 pounds), Dhillion Nicholson (125), Andrew Ward (140) and Colton Keig (heavyweight) each went undefeated for the Eagles.

Drew Goodwin (112), Seth Sloan (152), Sebastian Mims (160) each had two wins for Riverside. Evan Sarham (130), Mancini Udogi (171), Kelton Counts (189) and Diego Osegueda-Weiner (215) each added one win for the Eagles.

Chestatee finished 2-1 in the meet with wins over Johnson (75-6) and Riverside and a 42-28 loss to Flowery Branch. The War Eagles were led by Conner Comeaux (130), Cam Phillips (152) and Andy Etris (189), who each went undefeated and had three pins.

J.W. Gilbert (103), Aron Verduzco (119), Nathaniel Peck (140), Danny Nguyen (189) and Ed Villeda (215) each had two wins for Chestatee. Zach Chadwick (112), Jessy Williams (125), Cody Etris (135), John Robinson (160), Blake Forrester (275) and Dillan Stapler (140) each added one win for the War Eagles.

Riverside and Johnson will participate in the Panther Invitational at 5 p.m. today at Jackson County. Chestatee plays host to East Hall at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Flowery Branch will play host to the Falcon Invitational at 8 a.m. Saturday.

North Forsyth 50, White County 24 (Tuesday)

Caleb Morris (103 pounds), Anthony Brady (112), Jacob Lee (152), Blake Limbaugh (160), and Tyler Hamilton (285) each earned wins for the Warriors on Tuesday in Cumming.

White County will participate in the Panther Invitational at 5 p.m. today at Jackson County.
