Behind strong singles performances by Scott Allan and William Anthony, the Johnson Knights boys tennis team beat Flowery Branch 3-2 on Monday.

Both Allan (6-0, 6-0) and Anthony (6-1, 6-3) won in straight sets over their respective Flowery Branch opponents.

The match’s deciding win came when the doubles team of Drew Jones and Rory Collins won a three-set match 1-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.

Luke Smith had a singles win while the team of Jake Jacobs and Coulter Burch had a doubles win for the Falcons.

Johnson (3-4, 2-2 Region 7B-AAA) next plays Lambert at Sharron Springs Park at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Flowery Branch visits West Forsyth at 4 p.m. Thursday.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 5, JOHNSON 0: The Lady Falcons won on the road Monday without losing a set.

Anna Shaw, Elizabeth Mallory and Morgan Reed each had singles victories while the teams of Nicki Price/Molly Smith and Dani Taylor/Bekki Benton won doubles.

Next, Flowery Branch visits West Forsyth while Johnson travels to Lambert.

Both matches begin at 4 p.m. Thursday.

WEST HALL BOYS 4, WEST FORSYTH 1: Despite losing the No.1 singles match, the Spartans took four of five Monday to win on the road.

Jimmy Kincaid and Max Wilson had singles wins while the teams of Tyler Burgamy/Conner McFall and Andrew Johnson/Nathan Turner swept doubles.

West Hall (7-2, 5-1 Region 7B-AAA) plays host to Gainesville at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Baseball

BUFORD 8, NORTH HALL 3:
A four-run first inning gave the Wolves a lead they didn’t relinquish Monday.

Adding two more runs in the second, one in the third and one in the fifth, Buford moved to 5-1 on the year.

North Hall’s Jackson Coker had a home run and Holden Keller had a triple.

Buford plays host to Central Gwinnett at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

North Hall welcomes Stephens County at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

JACKSON COUNTY 14, WEST HALL 4
: The Panthers moved to 7-0 on the season with a strong victory on the road Monday.

Rob Williams, Zack Sticher and Ken Miller each had two RBIs for Jackson County, who plays host to West Hall at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

GAINESVILLE 10, CENTRAL GWINNETT 0:
The Red Elephants gave up only one hit Monday night as they defeated Class AAAAA’s Black Knights.

Will Maddox was 2-for-3 with three runs and Sloan Strickland and Ryan Griffith each had three RBIs in the win.

Gainesville (4-1) travels to Hart County at 5:55 p.m. today.

CHESTATEE 14, DAWSON COUNTY 5 (SATURDAY):
Eight of nine Chestatee starters had base hits Saturday as the War Eagles won a makeup game at Dawson County.

Chestatee’s Zack Sweet pitched five innings while giving up only one earned run.

Scott Chewning, Zack Sisk, James Kibbler and Kevin Clifford combined to drive in 10 of Chestatee’s 13 runs.

Dawson County plays host to Union County at 5:55 p.m. today.

Chestatee (4-0) plays host to West Hall at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 4, RABUN GAP 0:
Jordan Ball, Nicole Ball, Ashley Valentine and Madison Dunn each had a goal for the Lady Chargers (3-0) on the road Monday night.

WEST HALL GIRLS 5, EAST HALL 0 (FRIDAY): Behind two goals from Monica Pascual the Lady Spartans won at home in their second region game of the season.

Also adding goals for West Hall were Rachel Kline, Tania Perez and Yohet Terrones.

Alyssa Hall had three assists for West Hall, which continues region play at White County at 5:30 p.m. today.

East Hall plays host to Creekview at 5:30 p.m. today.
