Liza Carpenter scored for the Lady Red Elephants (5-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAA South) in a 3-0 win against Lanier on Tuesday night in Sugar Hill. Jazmine Penado and Elizabeth Fischer each added goals for Gainesville.

Rebecca Webster and Ashlie Gonzalez combined for the Lady Red Elephants’ shutout.

The Lady Red Elephants visit Carrollton at 6 p.m. Friday.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, LANIER 0: Douglas Mejia scored two goals for the Red Elephants on Friday night in Sugar Hill. Eduardo Espinoza, Charlie Bryant and Erick Romero added one goal for Gainesville.

Edgar Espinoza and Juan Remes combined for Gainesville’s shutout in goal.

The Red Elephants visit Carrollton at 8 p.m. Friday.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 3, WHITE COUNTY 2: Alex Lawson scored the game-winning goal for the Lady Trojans (2-4, 2-0 Region 8-AAA North) in the first period of overtime Tuesday night in Cleveland. Olivia Smith added one goal for North Hall, and Tristan Bailey finished with one goal and two assists. White County visits North Forsyth at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

NORTH HALL BOYS 6, WHITE COUNTY 0: Jake Carter scored two goals for the Trojans (3-0-1, 2-0 Region 8-AAA North) on Tuesday night in Cleveland. Ramon Salamanca, Jake Stephens, Dillon Martin and Zach Tibbs each added a goal for North Hall.

Jorge Mejia led the Trojans on defense, and Carlos Prianti and Isaiah Vigil combined for the shutout.

North Hall visits Johnson at 7:30 p.m. Friday. White County plays at North Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

OCONEE COUNTY GIRLS 6, CHESTATEE 3: Alexis Rebollar scored two goals for the Lady War Eagles (2-4, 1-3 Region 8-AAA North) Tuesday night. Celia Penado scored her first career goal for Chestatee, and Sadi Foote earned two assists.

The Lady War Eagles visit Rabun Gap on Friday.

JOHNSON GIRLS 7, LUMPKIN COUNTY 1: Brittany Martin scored three goals for the Lady Knights (4-2-1, 2-0 Region 8-AAA South) on Tuesday afternoon. Kayln Dumanowsky scored one goal and had one assist for Johnson, while Anna Torres, Kayla Reed and Kelsey Dumanowsky each added a goal. Chandler Steele finished with three assists.

The Lady Knights host North Hall at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 9, BUFORD 1: Cassidy Elrod led the Lady Falcons (8-0) with three goals and two assists on Monday afternoon in Flowery Branch. Kayla Robles, Cashen Philyaw and Corrie Thomas each added two goals for the Lady Falcons.

Lauren Dunn recorded five saves in goal for Flowery Branch.

The Lady Falcons host Clarke Central at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 3, BUFORD 2: Leo Manzo scored two goals for the Falcons on Tuesday night. Adrian Lagranda added a goal for Flowery Branch, Jonathan Beltran recorded seven saves and Luis Teran recorded two saves.

The Falcons host Clarke Central at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY 3, ATHENS ACADEMY 1: After trailing 1-0 at halftime, Ryan Marcano set Gabriel Rodriguez to tie the game for the Eagles (5-1, 1-0 Region 8-A) on Monday afternoon in Athens. Oliseabuka Madichie also scored for the Eagles.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 5, WEST HALL 0: Morgan Mercer, Brinkley Frankum and Georgia Summer won in straight sets Monday night. Doubles teams Martha McKinnon and Lauren Carter, and Suzanne Smith and Mady Wuest also won in straight sets.

Gainesville hosts Monroe Area on Thursday.

STEPHENS COUNTY BOYS 4, CHESTATEE 1: Casey Campbell and Dillan Stapler avoided the sweep for the War Eagles (4-1), winning 6-1, 5-7, 10-8 at No. 2 doubles on Tuesday in Gainesville.

WEST HALL BOYS 4, GAINESVILLE 1: Max Wilson led the Spartans (5-1, 3-1 Region 8-AAA South) with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles, and Connor McFall finished 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles on Tuesday afternoon. Top No. 1 doubles team Brendon Worth and Tatum Scroggs added a win at No. 1 doubles for West Hall, and Austin Dyer and Connor Kirkland recorded a win at No. 2 doubles.

The Spartans visit Monroe Area today.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 5, EAST JACKSON 0: Jake Schaefer led the Leopards (2-0) with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles on Tuesday in Commerce.

Paul Couphalin and Jacob Blalock added wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles for Banks County, and No. 2 doubles duo Justin Yang and Jake Mills finished 6-2, 6-1.

The Leopards host Rabun County at 4 p.m. Thursday.

JEFFERSON GIRLS 5, EAST JACKSON 0: Taylor Bost and Abi Muesse recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for the Lady Dragons on Monday afternoon in Commerce. Charley Beatty added a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles for Jefferson; Amanda Burgamy and Chelsea Runkel finished 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles; and Grace Main and Olivia Yates recorded a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.

JEFFERSON BOYS 4, EAST JACKSON 1: Jordan Tyler recorded a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles, and Jackson Howard finished 6-1, 6-1 for the Dragons on Monday afternoon in Commerce. No. 1 doubles duo Brandon Clabo and Austin Pratt finished 6-2, 6-0 for Jefferson, and Justin Harkins and Kody McDonald added a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles.

Baseball

WHITE COUNTY 5, WEST OAK (S.C.) 4: Kevin Aleander led the Warriors (5-0) in their 13-inning win, going 3 for 7 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored on Monday night. Jeremy McClure went 3 for 6 with two runs scored for White County, and Justin Hester finished 3 for 6 with one run scored.

Justin Hester earned the win by pitching the thirteenth inning for the Warriors, and Blake Thomas pitched six innings allowing no hits with 11 strike outs.

White County hosts Gainesville on Friday.

PINECREST ACADEMY 4, RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY 1: Collin Pettell and Christian Phares each went 2 for 3 for the Eagles (1-4-1, 0-2 Region 8-A) Monday afternoon.

Riverside visits Tallulah Falls at 4:15 today.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 84, JOHNSON 114: Meg Callahan led the Lady Red Elephants with a 40, and Morgan Reece recorded a 44 on Tuesday at Royal Lakes Country Club.

Gainesville will play North Hall on Thursday at Chattahoochee Golf Club.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 75, WHITE COUNTY 82, LUMPKIN COUNTY 86: Haley Twiggs led the Lady Trojans with a 37, and Jessie Edge finished with a 38 on Tuesday afternoon at the Chestatee Golf Club.

Jodi Samples and Brittan Slaton each recorded a 41 for the Lady Warriors.

Morgan Wood recorded a 38 for the Lady Indians and Taylor Gooch finished with a 48.

North Hall will play Gainesville on Thursday at the Chattahoochee Country Club.

WEST HALL BOYS 187, CHESTATEE 208: Kip O’Kelley led the Spartans with a 43, and Justin Harkleroad finished with a 45 on Tuesday at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

Cole Morgan finished with a 42 for the War Eagles.

West Hall plays Jefferson today at Royal Lakes Country Club.

WEST HALL GIRLS 93, CHESTATEE 100: Mallorie Smith led the Lady Spartans with a 45, and Olivia Davis finished with a 48 on Tuesday at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

Christen Watkins led the Lady War Eagles with a 45, and Madison Eiberger finished with a 55.

West Hall plays Jefferson today at Royal Lakes Country Club.
