The Jefferson High softball team won one of four games played in the Oconee County tournament Friday and Saturday in Watkinsville. The Dragons earned their only win against Jackson County 8-0 on Saturday. Callie Holloway and Brianna Caudell each had a single and scored two runs for Jefferson. Kara Perry earned the win for the Lady Dragons with only one hit allowed over five innings.
Riverwood 8, Jefferson 0
Kris Reynolds pitched four innings and allowed six hits for the Lady Dragons in a loss to the Lady Raiders on Saturday.
South Effingham 7, Jefferson 5
Kris Reynolds led the Lady Dragons at the plate with a single, and a two-RBI double Saturday against the Mustangs. Holloway and Summer Bartek each had one hit for Jefferson.
North Forsyth 3, Jefferson 1
Erin Smith led the Lady Dragons with an RBI double in a loss to the Lady Raiders on Friday. Brittany Smith also added a hit for Jefferson. Kris Reynolds pitched five innings and only allowed five hits.
North Hall plays at Collins Hill
The North Hall High volleyball team won a match against Collins Hill 2-0 (25-17, 25-21) on Saturday at the Collins Hill Classic in Suwanee. The Lady Trojans lost the other two matches to Blessed Trinity 2-0 (25-9, 25-11) and North Cobb 2-0 (25-23, 25-16). Katherine Filchak had 11 kills and 11 blocks for the Lady Trojans. North Hall’s Lauren Gregory had six assists, two aces and a service run of six points. Kathryn Bell had 21 assists and Evann Rowland added 17 digs for the Lady Trojans.
