Gainesville High senior Spencer Ralston carded a 32 on each side at Mossy Creek Golf Course in Cleveland for a new tournament-record 64 in the Warrior Invitational on Saturday.
The University of Georgia signee beat the previous best by four shots (Madison County’s Ryan Hybl, 2001).
The Red Elephants boys also won the team title with a four-player total of 301.
Also for Gainesville, Davis Weaver shot a 76, Ryan Hogan carded a 79, and A.D. Winston had an 81.
Gainesville’s junior varsity team finished fifth in the 37-team field, led by Brody Simmons’ 74, who was also the JV low medallist.
Dunwoody placed second (301) and North Forsyth was third (310).
On Monday, Gainesville takes part in the Atlanta Athletic Club Invitational at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek.
