Austin Montgomery made a go-ahead free throw with 1.9 seconds left to give Lakeview Academy its only lead of the game and lead the Lions to a 61-60 win over Athens Christian on Thursday in Athens.

Montgomery led Lakeview (18-6, 11-2 Region 8A-A) with 19 points, Trevor Price added 15 and Rick Valentine scored nine.

The Lions, the No. 1 seed in the North subregion, begin play in the Region 8-A Tournament at Towns County High on Tuesday in Hiawassee.

LAKEVIEW GIRLS 40, ATHENS CHRISTIAN 24: Schyler Miller tallied 16 points for the Lady Lions on Thursday in Athens.

Kaylee McClendon and Danielle Morgan each added five points for Lakeview (12-12, 7-7 Region 8A-A).

The Lady Lions travel to Tallulah Falls at 7:30 tonight in Tallulah Falls.

STEPHENS COUNTY GIRLS 33, LUMPKIN COUNTY 22: Stephens County outscored Lumpkin County 17-1 in the fourth quarter to take the win on Thursday in Toccoa.

The Lady Indians were led by Dakota Sullens with nine points and 11 rebounds. Morgan Wood added seven points.

Lumpkin County return to action in the 8-AAAA Region Tournament at Johnson on Monday in Oakwood.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 40, HOLY GROUND CHRISTIAN 16: Julianne Sutton led the Lady Chargers with 11 points on Thursday in Carrollton.

Nicole Ball added eight points for North Georgia (13-3) and Sarah Rhodes chipped in six points. The Lady Chargers will complete their regular season against Colonial Hills Christian on Friday night in Flowery Branch.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN BOYS 71, HOLY GROUND CHRISTIAN 39: The Chargers were led by Caleb Eppling’s 16 points on Thursday in Carrollton.

Norris Rettiger added 14 points and Sam Youngblood scored 13 points.

The Chargers return to action in their final regular season game against Colonial Hills Christian on Friday night in Flowery Branch.

CHESTATEE BOYS 75, PICKENS 73 (Wednesday): Aaron Manders tipped-in a rebound with just three seconds remaining on the clock to lead the War Eagles to victory on Wednesday in Jasper.

Manders finished the game with 12 points, and Justin Jones and Jordan Degraff each tallied 18 for Chestatee (12-13, 5-3 Region 8-AAAA).

The War Eagles return to action as the No. 4 seed in the 8-AAAA tournament at Johnson on Tuesday in Oakwood.

CEDAR SHOALS GIRLS 45, FLOWERY BRANCH 32 (Wednesday): Dani Lacko led the Lady Falcons (22-3, 15-1 Region 8-AAAAA) with 12 points on Wednesday in Athens.

Jacy Ramey added nine points for Flowery Branch, which returns to action in the Region 8-AAAAA Tournament at Apalachee on Monday in Winder.
