Hunter Anglin led the Red Elephants at the plate going 2 for 3 with three RBIs in an 11-1 win against Archer on Monday in Lawrenceville.

Michael Gettys was 2 for 4 with a pair of hits and a pair of RBIs.

Chandler Newton picked up the win from the mound, allowing two hits and one run while striking out five in four innings pitched.

Gainesville (2-0) plays host to Habersham Central at 5:55 p.m. Thursday in Gainesville.

FLOWERY BRANCH 15, FRANKLIN COUNTY 2: Drew Miles led the Falcons with five RBIs in a 3-for-3 showing at the plate on Monday in Flowery Branch.

Jonathan Hughes was 2 for 4 with four RBIs, and C.J. Navin was 1 for 2 with a double. Chad Kahlert was 2 for 2, and Justin Seabolt went 2 for 3 for Flowery Branch (3-0).

Brad Keller got the win from the circle for the Falcons with six strikeouts in four innings pitched.

Flowery Branch travels to Peachtree Ridge on Thursday in Suwanee.

EAST HALL 7, JACKSON COUNTY 1: Hunter Buffington and Jacob Cash teamed up for five hits and four RBIs on Monday in Gainesville.

Buffington singled in the first inning, reached on a error in the second inning, and doubled in the fourth inning for the Vikings. Cash sent in two runs on a double in the second inning for East Hall.

Cash shut down Jackson County from the circle, giving up just one hit, allowing no earned runs, and striking out three in three innings pitched.

The Vikings return to action against Oglethorpe County in the Day at the Diamond Tournament at Commerce High on Saturday in Commerce.


CHESTATEE GIRLS 5, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 2: The Lady War Eagles scored three unanswered goals in the second half to comeback from a 1-0 deficit after an own goal in the first half on Monday in Gainesville.

Taylor Buffington, Sadie Foote, Hope Baxter, Zoe Smith and Nikki Bellue each scored for Chestatee (4-1) in the win.

The Lady War Eagles play host to Monroe Area in their first region match of the season on Friday in Gainesville.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 3, CUMBERLAND CHRISTIAN 0: Drake Spratlin, Sarah Rhodea and Liz Wethington each scored for the Lady Chargers on Monday at Allen Creek Soccer Complex in Gainesville.

Goalkeeper Georgia Clark and the Lady Chargers' defense preserved the shutout in the season opener.

The Lady Chargers (1-0) play host to Horizon Christian on Thursday at Allen Creek in Gainesville.


LADY WAR EAGLES WIN AT RELAYS: The Chestatee Women's 4x1600-meter relay team set a new school record by completing the distance in 24 minutes, 5 seconds to win at the West Hall Relays on Saturday in Oakwood.

The team consisted of Sarah Beth English (5:48), Maggie Wilson (6:08), Yaritza Carrillo (6:13) and Tori Mullinax (5:55). Later in the day, Mullinax, also set a personal best time of 5:37 to anchor the distance medley.
