High School Scoreboard: East Hall girls top Florida team in South Florida Holiday Shootout
East Hall, North Hall boys both pick up overtime wins

The East Hall Lady Vikings defeated Palm Beach Lakes (Fla.) 63-43 in the South Florida Holiday Shootout Monday night.

Lady Vikings’ sophomore Carly Winters led the team with 22 points. Ashlyn Ellison had 10, Kylah Mize scored eight and Jenny Edwards added seven.

East Hall (8-2) next plays Grandview Prep (Fla.) tonight.

EAST HALL BOYS 78, WANDO (S.C.) 72 (OT): The Vikings (6-3) were led by Tylor Brown in a comeback effort to pull out a win at the West Ashley Classic in Charleston, S.C., Monday.

East Hall trailed Wando 12-0 to start the contest before Brown ultimately hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game at 60-60 and send the game to overtime.

Brown finished with a career-high 38 points. Tristan Cooper added 15, Andy Lara had 13 and Mahki Brown posted 10.

NORTH HALL BOYS 67, BANKS COUNTY 66 (OT): The Trojans (6-2) handed the Leopards (10-1) their first loss of the season in Homer.

Evan Easton led the visitors with 20 points. Sam Jackson added 17 and Carson Heinen posted 14.

Zez Steeple led Banks County with 32 points. Trevae Cain and Zac Orr each had 10 points for the Leopards. Orr added 17 rebounds to mark a double-double on the night.

Dylan Orr scored five points for Banks County and pulled in 10 rebounds as well.

Next, Banks County will play in the Commerce Christmas Tournament. North Hall will play at 7:30 p.m. today against Discovery High in Lawrenceville.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 55, NORTH HALL 42: The Lady Leopards were led by Allison Smith with 16 points and Morgan Rylee with 13 points Monday night.

Banks County (7-4) next plays in the Commerce Christmas Tournament 4 p.m. next Monday, while North Hall (5-3) visits Discovery High 6 p.m. tonight.

DAWSON COUNTY BOYS 59, PICKENS 21: The Tigers moved to 5-5 with their win tonight in Jasper.
Dawson pulled away late with a 24-point fourth quarter.

The Tigers were led by Cullen Reed with 16 points. Jeremiah Crumley added 12 for the away team.

Next up, Dawson County will play in the Bulldog Classic in Loganville. They’ll be matched up with Athens Christian at 5 p.m. Monday for the first round.

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 69, PICKENS 46: The Lady Tigers remain undefeated with the help of Karlie Bearden’s 20 points Monday night in Jasper.

Dawson County’s Kaylee Sticker netted 14 points, while Peytan Porter and Haley Burgess both finished with 11 points.

The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Dragons 21-9 in the third quarter.

Dawson County (10-0) next plays in the George Walton Holiday Classic next Monday.

CENTRAL (Ala.) GIRLS 43, CHESTATEE 23: Brooklyn Popham and Lindsey Caudell combined for 17 points to lead Chestatee in the Shaw Christmas Tournament Monday evening in Columbus.

Eramiss Hernandez and Dawndria Bell both chipped in three points.

Chestatee was shut out in the second quarter, but outscored Central High 13-12 in the third quarter.

SPARKMAN (AL) GIRLS 38, BUFORD 33 OT: Lady Wolves’ sophomore point guard Tory Ozment scored 13 points, while fellow sophomore Jessica Nelson added eight Monday night in a defensive battle at the Woodward Academy Classic in College Park.

Buford (5-3) next plays Miller Grove 8:30 p.m. tonight in the Woodward Academy Classic.
