The East Hall High baseball team defeated Union County 7-6 to earn its first win of the season Thursday at East Hall Park.

Desmon Gardner and Cody Davidson each had two hits in the Vikings.

Nick Deaton pitched the seventh and picked up the win.

An inning after Gardner hit a game-tying triple, East Hall (1-1) won in the bottom of the seventh on a Union County error.

T.W. Webb started the game for East Hall and pitched 4 2/3 innings.

East Hall visits West Hall at 1 p.m. today.

Jefferson boys 4, Lakeview Academy 1 (Thursday)

Zack Bost and Chase Lindsey each won singles matches in straight sets for the Dragons on Thursday in Jefferson.

The team of Matt Buchanan and Aaron Martin and the team of Trevor Castellaw and Stephen Chambers each won in doubles to secure the win for Jefferson.

Mike Fowler won a singles match for Lakeview.

Jefferson visits North Oconee at 4 p.m. Thursday. Lakeview visits Riverside Military at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Jefferson girls 5, Lakeview Academy girls 0 (Thursday)

Bell Blankenship, Jessica Johnson and Miranda McGarity each had singles wins in straight sets for the Lady Dragons on Thursday in Jefferson.

Jefferson completed the sweep in doubles with wins from the team of Ashley Etchison and Colby Fowler and the team of Kristine Chambers and Mariah Yates.

Jefferson visits Prince Avenue Christian at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Lakeview visits Chestatee at 4 p.m. Thursday.
