Breana Fair and Kayla Kelly each posted 14 points as Gainesville’s girls basketball team defeated Clarke Central 55-47 on Friday in Athens.

Taylor Hawks added 13 points for the Lady Red Elephants (4-2).

Gainesville faces Wesleyan today at East Hall High.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 74, CLARKE CENTRAL 58: D’Marcus Simonds scored 18 points for the Red Elephants on Friday in Athens.

Sam Carpenter had 13 points, and K.J. Buffen notched 12.

Gainesville (7-0, 4-0 Region 8-AAAAA) plays host to North Hall on Tuesday.

BUFORD GIRLS 54, WESLEYAN 53: Zikaya Wright’s 18 points were a team-high for the Lady Wolves on Friday.

Camille Anderson scored 16 for Buford (5-2), which faces Gainesville on Dec. 19 at home.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 44, STEPHENS COUNTY 43: Tyler Bennett notched 16 points to lead the Lady War Eagles on Friday.

Kayla Watson added 15 points for Chestatee (3-4), and Brooklyn Popham had seven.

The Lady War Eagles face West Hall at 4 p.m. today in Gainesville.

STEPHENS COUNTY BOYS 53, CHESTATEE 51: The War Eagles missed the game-tying shot at the buzzer on Friday, but Hunter Creamer put up 16 points for Chestatee.

Jordan Pulliam added 14 for the War Eagles (3-4).

Chestatee plays host to West Hall on alumni night at 4 p.m. today in Gainesville.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 68, EAST HALL 61: Kaitlyn Duncan paced the Lady Leopards with 25 points on Friday in Homer.

Allison Smith added 12 points for Banks County (6-1, 2-0 Region 7-AAA).

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 41, UNION COUNTY 37: The Lady Tigers stayed undefeated with a close win on Friday.

Karlie Bearden notched a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Dawson County (6-0, 1-0 Region 7-AAA), and Ashley Parker had 12 points.

The Lady Tigers play host to Pickens at 6 p.m. tonight in Dawsonville.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 63, CEDAR SHOALS 40: Maddie Hetzel fueled the Lady Falcons with 16 points on Friday in Athens.

Taniyah Worth and Julianne Sutton each notched 14 points for Flowery Branch (7-1, 4-0 Region 8-AAAAA).

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN BOYS 69, OLD SUWANEE CHRISTIAN 58: Norris Rettiger powered the Chargers with 22 points on Friday in Flowery Branch.

Chris Palmer notched 20 points for North Georgia Christian (8-5) and Davis Martin and Jordan Hughes each scored eight points.
