High school scoreboard: Chestatee softball locks up playoff spot with 4-3 win against White County

Chestatee’s Rebecca Eddins pitched a complete game with four strikes to help Chestatee clinch a playoff berth with a 4-3 win against White County on Tuesday. With the win, the Lady War Eagles locked up the No. 3 spot to the Class AAAA state tournament.

Georgia Patterson scored twice for Chestatee (19-5, 4-4). Elizabeth Eddins and Danielle Ortega each scored another run for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee plays Lumpkin County at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday in Dahlonega.

NORTH HALL 14, FANNIN COUNTY 6: Ohio State University commit Niki Carver finished the night 2 for 4 with a solo home run as the Lady Trojans locked up a first-round bye to the Region 7-AAA tournament. Ashlyn Brewster was 1 for 3 with three runs for the Lady Trojans (10-7, 10-2). North Hall’s Amber Smith drove in two runs.

North Hall faces the No. 4 seed in the region tournament at 11 a.m. Oct. 5. in Gainesville.

VOLLEYBALL
LADY VIKINGS SPLIT TRI-MATCH: East Hall’s Savannah Thellman posted nine points, five aces, five kills, four digs and 20 assists in East Hall’s split against Lumpkin County and North Hall. The Lady Vikings beat Lumpkin County in two sets (25-20, 25-13).

East Hall lost to the Lady Trojans in two sets (25-19, 25-12). East Hall’s (32-10, 2-3 Region 7-AAA) Summer Lindsey finished the night with 12 points, four aces, 14 digs, five kills, while Niyah Rucker totaled nine kills, two assists, two digs and four blocks.

East Hall faces Cedar Shoals at 6 p.m. Thursday in Gainesville.

NORTH HALL SWEEPS TRI-MATCH: North Hall’s Melissa DeVerter produced 13 kills, five aces, six blocks, nine digs in wins against East Hall and Lumpkin County.

North Hall defeated Lumpkin County 25-5 25-8. Also Lady Trojans (23-9, 4-0 Region 7-AAA) Lily Paschall finished the night with 26 assists, 12 aces, five kills and seven digs. North Hall’s Autumn Tucker posted 11 kills, 11 digs, and two aces.

North Hall hosts Lakeview Academy and Flowery Branch at 5 p.m. Thursday in Gainesville.
