Dakota Chalmers struck out 10 hitters in five innings for the Lakeview Academy baseball team in a 12-1 win against Towns County on Friday.

Ted Reynolds was 3 for 5 with two RBIs for Lakeview (12-9). Nick Henderson and Ramsey Hill each went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

Lakeview’s regular season is complete. It opens the Class A private state playoffs next week.

JACKSON COUNTY 9, CEDAR SHOALS 3: Chase Dunlap picked up his fifth win of the season with a four-hit, four-strikeout performance while excelling at the plate for the Panthers (16-10) in their regular season finale Friday.

Dunlap went 3 for 4 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs to give himself run support. Nick Corso went 4 for 4 with a run and an RBI. Joel Ellis was 3 for 4 with a double, a run and an RBI.

Jackson County opens the Class AAA state playoffs when it visits Ringgold at 4 p.m. Friday.

WHITE COUNTY 7, WEST HALL 2: Zach Humphries and Chris West each went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs for the Warriors on senior night Friday in Cleveland.

Blake Thomas was 2 for 3 with three runs scored for White County (17-8 14-7 Region 7-AAA), and Spencer Adams was 2 for 3 with two runs scored.

Matthew Hambrick earned the win pitching for the Warriors.

White County faces either Woodward Academy or St. Pius X in the first round of the Class AAA state tournament next Friday.

Tennis

JEFFERSON GIRLS FALL TO LOVETT: The Lady Dragons competed in a series of tough matches but lost to Lovett 3-0 on Thursday in Jefferson, ending their season.

Jefferson’s boys team plays host to Greater Atlanta Christian at 4 p.m. on Monday in Jefferson.
