White County wins crucial region game

The White County baseball team won 12-5 against Lumpkin County on Monday in Dahlonega to strengthen its hold on second place in Region 7A-AAA.

Luke Crumley earned the win on the mound, striking out 12, while going 3-for-5 with two RBIs.

Hayden Cummins went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, Dylan Lee went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a home run, Marcus Rider went 3-for-4 and Cole Segraves went 3-for-4 for the Warriors (16-5, 11-4).

Brett Westmoreland went 1-for-4 with a home run for White County, which plays host to Gainesville, the first-place team in Region 7B-AAA at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Lumpkin County (7-14, 6-8 7A-AAA) plays host to Lambert at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

GAINESVILLE 15, EAST HALL 7: Anderson Loggins went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Red Elephants to the win Monday at East Hall.

Will Maddox went 3-for-5 and Hunter Anglin went 2-for-4 for Gainesville (19-1, 14-0 7B-AAA).  Ryan Griffith earned the win on the mound while going 3-for-4 at the plate.  Sloan Strickland went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a home run for Gainesville, which visits White County at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

East Hall (3-19, 2-13 7B-AAA) visits Pickens at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

FLOWERY BRANCH 11, WEST HALL 5: Cory Sanderson had three hits with four RBIs and a home run to lead the Falcons to the win Monday at West Hall.

Jimmy Fitzgerald, Brett Davidson and Robbie Boudreau each had two hits for Flowery Branch (4-17, 4-10 7B-AAA).

Andrew Laur earned the win on the mound for Flowery Branch which visits Creekview at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

West Hall (3-17, 2-12 7B-AAA) visit Gilmer at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.  

NORTH HALL 10, CHESTATEE 7 (NINE INNINGS): With three runs in the top of the ninth inning, the Trojans won Monday at Chestatee.

Nathan Hewell and Jacob Brewster combined for the win on the mound for North Hall (11-10, 8-7 7A-AAA).

Holden Kellar had four hits and Brewster had a double and two singles for North Hall, which plays host to Johnson at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

Chestatee (10-9, 5-9 7A-AAA) plays host to West Forsyth at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

JOHNSON GIRLS 3, CHESTATEE 0: Senior captain Anaelly Contreras scored a goal on Senior Night for Johnson on Monday at Billy Ellis Memorial Stadium.

Brittany Martin and K.K. Dumanowski each scored for Johnson (10-4, 8-3 7B-AAA). The Lady Knights travel to Heritage High School for the first round of the state playoffs on April 30.

JOHNSON BOYS 2, CHESTATEE 0: Edgar Ochoa and Juan Morfin each scored a goal for the Knights (12-3, 9-2 7B-AAA) in the win Monday at home.

The Knights visit Mill Creek at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 3, TRINITY CHRISTIAN 0: With two goals from Nicole Ball and one from Madison Dunn, the Lady Chargers won Monday in Fairburn.

North Georgia visits New Creation Christian at 4 p.m. today.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN BOYS 6, TRINITY CHRISTIAN 3
: Rick Valentine and Clay Cox each scored two goals in the win Monday in Fairburn.

Tai Do and Andrew Pulliam each scored a goal for the Chargers who visit New Creation Christian at 5:30 p.m. today.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 5, ST.FRANCIS 4 (DOUBLE OVERTIME)
: Five different players scored for the Lions in the win Monday at St. Francis.

Carter Ross, Steven Reynolds, Chandler Fox, Chris Askounis and Pipe Katkaew each had one goal for Lakeivew, which which visits Mr. Pisgah at 7 p.m. Wednesday for its final regular season game.

ST.FRANCIS GIRLS 3, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 0: The Lady Lions failed to score a goal in the loss Monday.
Lakeview visits Mt. Pisgah at 5 p.m. Wednesday for its final regular season game.
