Tigers rally for a win

The Dawson County boys basketball team went into halftime trailing Lambert 20-13, but the Tigers rallied and outscored the Longhorns 37-19 in the second half to secure a 50-39 win Wednesday night in Dawsonville.

Stephen Scaife scored 18 points and Jacob Evans scored 14 points to lead the Tigers (12-3), who visit North Oconee at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Bogart.

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 49, LAMBERT 43: Judith Hall and Jessi Phillips led the Lady Tigers with 11 points each in their win Wednesday night in Dawsonville.

Down by five at the half, Dawson County held Lambert to just seven third quarter points to take a seven-point lead into the final period.

The Lady Tigers return to action at 7 p.m. Friday at North Oconee.

PICKENS GIRLS 50, LUMPKIN COUNTY 27 (TUESDAY): Lindsey Hammontree scored 17 points to lead Pickens on Tuesday.

Cara Malone scored 10 points to lead the Lady Indians (0-10), who play host to Flowery Branch at 7 p.m. Friday. The Lady Dragons (12-2, 2-1 Region 7A-AAA) play host to White County at 7 p.m. Friday.
