High school football: North Hall pulls away from West Hall in Region 7-3A opener

Clark Howell had fourth-quarter touchdown runs of 42 and 11 yards in the fourth quarter as North Hall topped West Hall 42-13 in the Region 7-3A opener Friday in Gainesville. 

Howell also had a 39-yard scoring run in the first quarter for the Trojans (2-3, 1-0 Region 7-3A), which tied it at 7-7. In the second quarter, he scored on a run from the 3.

Before halftime, Bradford Puryear rolled out and hit Kevin Rochester on a 3-yard scoring pass. 

Howell had a season-high 173 yards on 16 carries and four scores. Rochester had 17 runs for 71 yards. 

Josiah Henriques had 10 carries for 92 yards for the Spartans (2-3, 0-1). 

Up next, North Hall visits White County on Friday. West Hall plays host to Cherokee Bluff.
