Banks County sweeps Chattoga

The Leopards unloaded 13 hits and home runs and Kasey Hudgins pitched a complete-game shutout in Game 1. Justin Bowen was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in Game 2 for Banks, who play host to Westminster on Wednesday.

Dragons dominant in opening round

Game 1: Jefferson 3, Model 0

Chris Beck pitched a one-hitter in to record the win in Game 1 on Friday in Jefferson. Jake Fields had three home runs and five RBIs and Jamie Sexton was 4-for-5 in Game 2 to lead the Dragons.
Jefferson plays host to Blessed Trinity on Wednesday.

Commerce taken down by ELCA

Game 1: ELCA 7, Commerce 3

Game 2: ELCA 2, Commerce 1

After losing by four runs in Game 1, Commerce took ELCA into extra innings, but finished on the losing end in 11 innings.
Commerce’s season is now complete. ELCA advances to Round 2 where it will play Darlington.

Lumpkin County swept in Round 1

Game 2: Elbert County 6, Lumpkin County 3

A pitchers duel between Elbert County’s David Teasley (14 striketouts) and Lumpkin County’s Devin Dunson (11 strikeouts) ended in the Blue Devils’ favor Friday in Elberton. Elbert County jumped out three-run lead in the first inning in Game 2 to sweep the series.
