High school baseball: Gainesville drops season finale

Sloan Strickland hit a two-run triple and Will Maddox added an RBI double, but that was not enough as Gainesville lost to third-ranked Creekview, 6-4 on Friday.

Creekview, the top-seed from Region 7-AAA, will open the state tournament Friday against the No. 4 seed from Region 8-AAA.

Gainesville finishes the season with a 15-10 record.
