Gainesville defensive coordinator Pavao named Fannin County head coach

Seven-year Gainesville High defensive coordinator Jim Pavao has accepted a head coaching position at Fannin County High, which was confirmed Tuesday by Red Elephants head coach Bruce Miller. Pavao helped the Red Elephants to the state finals in 2009 and 2012, and was part of the Class AAAAA state championship program in 2012. Gainesville finished the 2013 season 12-2 with a loss in the Class AAAAA state semifinals to eventual state runner-up Tucker.
