Despite a perfect regular season and a top seed in the Class AAA state playoffs, the Gainesville baseball team still drew a No. 4 seed that was ranked among the top 10 in the state for its first-round matchup. So, when it hosted Heritage-Catoosa on Friday at Ivey-Watson Field, there were no guarantees that the Red Elephants’ impressive run would continue.
