Football scoreboard: Falcons win on last-second field goal, 20-18

The Flowery Branch football team needed a last-second field goal Friday night to defeat Creekview 20-18 in Canton.

Sophomore kicker Will Monday split the uprights on a 23-yard field goal as time expired to give the Falcons the win.

Daniel Drummond had 97 yards rushing and a touchdown for Flowery Branch (2-1).

Connor Shaw was 10-for-19 passing for 74 yards and rushed for 46 yards on 17 carries.

Flowery Branch plays host to Chestatee at 7 p.m. Friday in Flowery Branch.

Jefferson 41, Fannin County 6
The Dragons remain unbeaten after knocking off the defending Region 8-AA champions Friday in Buford.

Quarterback Darius Minor led the way for Jefferson (3-0, 2-0 Region 8-AA) with 116 yards rushing and two touchdowns, as well as 92 yards passing and a touchdown. Lucas Redd added two more rushing touchdowns for Jefferson. Tab Martin led the Dragons defense with eight tackles for a loss and three pass break ups.

Jefferson plays host to Oglethorpe at 7 p.m. Friday in Jefferson.

Clarke Central 28, Habersham Central 22
Clarke Central held off Habersham on Friday in Mount Airy.

With the Gladiators leading 22-15, quarterback John Wilson scored his third rushing touchdown of the game, enabling Clarke Central to pull away.

The Raiders (1-2) were led by Austin Brown who was 17-for-29 for 268 yards passing. Zach Mayfield had 123 receiving yards on seven catches and Dee Ellison had 79 yards on five catches. Jacob Griffin led Habersham Central's ground attack with 63 yards on 16 carries.

Habersham Central visits Loganville at 7 p.m. Friday in Loganville.

Banks County 48, Dawson County 27
The Leopards picked up their first win of the season Friday in Homer.

Banks County (1-2) was led by Justin Beasly with 274 yards on 24 carries and two touchdowns. Demetric Dempson added 123 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Leopards quarterback Chris Porter completed seven passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Kane Duncan was on the receiving end of those touchdowns and finished with 45 yards on four catches.

Banks County visits Rabun County at 7 p.m. Friday in Tiger.

Faith Christian 30, North Georgia Christian 20
Tyler Harney ran for 114 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown for the Chargers. Tyler Dunn had a touchdown for North Georgia Christian on a 6-yard run and Andy Skelton returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown.
