Chestatee girls soccer team earns national academic honor

The Chestatee Lady War Eagles soccer team was awarded the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) High School Team Academic Award for the 2013 season.

To receive the award, the team must have a combined 3.2 average GPA. This past season, the War Eagles earned a 3.53 GPA.

In addition, the Chestatee girls were placed on the NSCAA All-Time List for winning this award for nine consecutive years. Chestatee joins 241 other high school girl’s soccer teams across the country for demonstrating exemplary excellence in the classroom, as well as on the field.

The Chestatee squad was 12-5-2 last season and was Region 8-AAAA runner-up. The War Eagles made their fourth appearance in the state playoffs in 2013.
