Area players named to all-region baseball team

Two Jefferson and two Jackson County baseball players have been named to the Region 8-AA South All-Region team, the league announced Monday. For the Dragons, Drew Carson (second base) and Max Ford (shortstop) made the first team, while the Panthers’ Tony Holton (outfield) and Austin Robinson (utility) also made the squad.

Jackson County coach Tommy Fountain reports that the Panthers’ Trey Sorrells (catcher), Andy Williams (third base), and Matt Bridgeman (pitcher) were listed as honorable mentions.
