Chestatee’s volleyball team took two more wins as it swept Stephens County (25-16, 25-14) and Cherokee Bluff (25-23, 25-23) on Thursday in Flowery Branch. In the first match against the Lady Indians, Lindsey Bornhorst led the attack with five kills for the Lady War Eagles. Also for Chestatee, Sophie Davis totaled 18 digs, while Nicole Sedwick had five aces with seven digs. Anna McNerney and Chloe Riley each had five aces for Chestatee.
Against the Lady Bears, Riley led the attack with four kills, followed by Sedwick (three aces) with three kills and while Davis kept points alive with eight digs. McNerney had four aces for Chestatee.
Chestatee plays Flowery Branch and White County at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Gainesville.
EAST HALL WINS TRI-MATCH: East Hall defeated Monroe Area (25-13, 25-20) and Madison County (26-24, 27-25) on Thursday in Gainesville. Tessa Rider racked up a team-high 19 kills with three aces, three assists and 15 digs for the Lady Vikings (15-3). Janelly Lara added nine kills, two aces, two assists with 11 digs behind Rider, while teammate Nehemiah Jinks finished the night with seven kills and four blocks in the attack. Savannah Thellman had eight aces, three kills, a dig and 27 assists for the Lady Vikings.
East Hall plays Pickens and Dawson County at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Jasper.
