North Hall High's girls tennis team celebrates after beating Brantley County in the third round of the Class 3A state tournament on Thursday in Nahunta.

The North Hall girls tennis team took down Brantley County 3-0 in the third round of the Class 3A state tournament Thursday in Nahunta as the Lady Trojans continued their march through state playoffs.

North Hall will travel to Pace Academy next week for a state semifinals bout.

Anna Montgomery and Lauren Davis won in singles to get the first two wins for the Lady Trojans. In doubles, Ella Oxley and Lauren White won the clincher.

North Hall coach Bob Woodworth said the key to his team’s postseason success so far has been their mental toughness, which is something he’ll continue to emphasize as the team gets ready for its next match.

“The way to prepare is to just keep on doing what we’ve been doing,” Woodworth said.
