High school scoreboard: Worth scores 1,000th career point in Flowery Branch girls win

Taniyah Worth scored her 1,000th career point in Flowery Branch’s 69-38 win against Chestatee on Thursday in Gainesville. The Alabama signee contributed nine points in her milestone night. 

Caroline Wysocki was the Lady Falcons’ leading scorer with 18 points, while teammate Carly Shaw had 14 points. Lexie Sengkhammee had 12 points for Flowery Branch (1-0), and Ashley Scott rounded out the scoring night nine points.

Lindsey Caudell was the leading scorer for Chestatee (0-2) with 21 points, and teammate Christina Garcia finished the night with nine points.

Flowery Branch hosts Lanier at 4 p.m. Saturday in Flowery Branch.

Chestatee hosts Osborne at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Gainesville.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 71, CHESTATEE 49: Justin Quick racked up 27 points in Flowery Branch’s season opener Thursday in Gainesville. J.J. Greene scored 17 points for the Falcons, while teammate Devon Wainer totaled 10 points for the night.

Flowery Branch plays Apalachee at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Winder.

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 68, JEFFERSON 56: Calli Watson led the way with 16 points for Dawson County. Anna Lowe scored 10, while Emma Brown finished the night with nine points.

Dawson County plays Dunwoody at 6 p.m. Monday in the Tipoff Tournament in Dawsonville.
