High school scoreboard: Olson shines on mound as North Hall baseball team secures 7-3 victory

Georgia Tech signee Reese Olson threw five hitless innings for the North Hall High baseball team while recording nine strikeouts in a 7-3 win against Forsyth Central on Thursday. 

Caleb Wiley had three RBIs for the Trojans (3-1). David Seavey, Caleb Clark and Charlie Erickson each drove in a run for North Hall.

North Hall visits South Forsyth at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Cumming.

TENNIS

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 4, NORTH HALL 1: Annabelle Thomas won in straight sets in No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-1) for the Lady Falcons against Anna Montgomery. 

Winning in No. 2 singles for the Lady Falcons was Olivia Correa (6-1, 6-4) against Christen Barnes. Flowery Branch’s Olivia Nance won in No. 3 singles against Sydney Patterson (6-3, 6-2), while teammates Alicia Quast/Kendalle Quast won in No. 2 doubles against Raquel Kallab/Ella Oxley (6-1,6-1). 

Flowery Branch moved to 4-0 for the season. 

North Hall picked up a victory in No. 1 doubles with a win from Lauren Davis/Baylee Turner, who defeated Brenna Martin/Alyssa McSpadden (6-2, 3-6, 6-2).

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 5, NORTH HALL 0: Drayton Matus defeated Masa Kobayashi in straight sets for Flowery Branch (6-1, 6-0) in No. 1 singles. 

Getting the win in No. 2 singles for the Falcons was Nathan Holley, defeating Adam Turcotte (6-1, 6-0), while teammate Jack Thomas beat Ethan Surles (6-1, 6-3) in No. 3 singles. John Hollis/Brady McVey won in No. 1 doubles (6-3, 6-1) against Christian Boychuk/Kody Dills for Flowery Branch. 

Brody Millwood/Gunnar Hetzel got the win in No. 2 doubles (6-0, 6-0) for Flowery Branch against Forrester Terry/Jackson Roush.

North Hall is 0-1 for the season.

JOHNSON GIRLS 3, CHESTATEE 2: Winning in singles for Johnson were Perla Rivera (6-1, 6-0), Anna Cooper (6-2, 6-1) and Morgan Langley (6-2, 6-1).
