Carley Cox was 4 for 5 for the Lady Vikings. Steffanie Redmon singled in the fourth inning to drive in a run for East Hall, which visits Chestatee at 5 p.m. Monday in Gainesville.
CHESTATEE WINS DOUBLEHEADER: Chestatee won its doubleheader against West Hall on Thursday night, picking up wins of 8-0 and 13-2. Hannah Jones collected three RBIs for Chestatee (10-6, 5-1 Region 7-4A) in the first game, while Elizabeth Eddins threw four strikeouts.
In the second game, Jones registered three RBIs again for the Lady War Eagles, while teammate Bailey Mason drove in two runs.
Chestatee hosts East Hall at 5 p.m. Monday in Gainesville.
BUFORD 13, CLARKE CENTRAL 1: Buford’s Amelia Herring amassed five RBIs with a two-run home run in her Senior Night performance against Clarke Central.
Senior Skylar Jenkins was 2 for 2 with an RBI for the Lady Wolves. Buford pitcher Ansley Byers improved her record to 4-0 on the season, notching six strikeouts in Thursday’s contest.
The Lady Wolves face North Gwinnett at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Suwanee.
Buford’s Halston Hillier totaled 16 kills in the Gwinnett County Championships on Thursday in Suwanee.
The Lady Wolves defeated Peachtree Ridge (25-16, 25-11), Berkmar (25-5, 25-7) and Archer (25-8, 25-19). Stella Alverson had 16 assists for Buford, while teammate Tatum Shipes added nine kills in the wins.
Buford plays in the Gold Medal Bracket against Mountain View on Saturday in Suwanee.
EAST HALL 2, UNION COUNTY 0: Niyah Rucker led the East Hall attack with nine kills and two aces Thursday night in Blairsville. Holly Poole had six kills, three digs, three aces and an assist for the Lady Vikings. Tessa Rider finished the night with five kills, a block, nine digs and an assist for East Hall, which faces Lumpkin County and Lanier Christian in a tri-match at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
NORTH HALL WINS TRI-MATCH: Autumn Tucker had 14 kills, 12 digs and two aces in North Hall’s sweep of Johnson (25-14, 25-10) and West Hall (25-12, 25-12).
Melissa DeVerter posted 14 kills, eight blocks and nine digs. North Hall plays Dawson County on Tuesday in Dawsonville.
WEST HALL SPLITS TRI-MATCH: Ruby Guerrero had five aces in West Hall’s tri-match split, during which it defeated Johnson (25-21, 25-17) and fell to North Hall (25-12, 25-12). Cadie Shirley racked up eight kills for the Lady Spartans (14-19), while teammate Kinsey Wilson finished the night with five kills and five blocks.
West Hall faces Marist on Tuesday in Atlanta.
