High school scoreboard: Caudell's 26 points lift Chestatee girls past Osborne

Lindsey Caudell racked up 26 points to lead the Chestatee High girls basketball team to a 69-39 win against Osborne on Saturday in Gainesville.

Maggie McNair provided 12 points for the Lady War Eagles (1-2), and teammate Callyssa Tyner recorded eight. Christina Garcia and Emma Easterwood both picked up six points for Chestatee.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 55, CARROLLTON 47: Alabama commit Taniyah Worth paced the Lady Falcons with 23 points Saturday in a rematch of one of last year’s Class 5A state quarterfinal games.

Caroline Wysocki registered 17 points for the second-ranked Lady Falcons (2-0), who notched a huge non-region win against No. 3 Carrollton.

BUFORD GIRLS 71, DULUTH 31: Tory Ozment, a Michigan State pledge, led the No. 1 Lady Wolves with 15 points in the first round of the Craig Sager Memorial Tournament on Saturday in Dacula.

Ebony Grant had 11 points for the Lady Wolves (1-0), while Audrey Weiner and Preston Reid each scored nine points. Buford, the defending Class 5A state champion, received points from 12 different players.

The Lady Wolves will face Grayson in the next round of the tournament Monday in Dacula.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 63, APALACHEE 62: Justin Quick poured in 28 points for the Falcons on Saturday in Winder.

Patsheko Latumba contributed 16 points for Flowery Branch (2-0), which faces Union Grove at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Apalachee High in Winder.

LANIER GIRLS 70, EAST HALL 53: Carly Winters scored a team-high 21 points as the Lady Vikings fell in their season opener Saturday.

Macy Thomas chipped in 12 points for East Hall (0-1), while Ivey Shadburn added another eight points. The Lady Vikings return to action against Woodville-Tompkins on Monday at Beach High in Savannah.

SOCIAL CIRCLE GIRLS 44, JOHNSON 28: Kenny Velasquez had 13 points, and teammate Chelsea Reece added another 12 for the Lady Knights on Saturday.
