High school football: Johnson earns opening-night win over Oglethorpe County

Xzavior Ramsey scored twice for the Johnson football team to lead the Knights (1-0) to a 32-20 win over visiting Oglethorpe County in Oakwood. 

Nolan Bullock scored a touchdown and had a pair of interceptions in the game, while Jack Luttrell also got into the end zone once on the ground.

Johnson held off a gritty Patriots squad, leading 21-20 at intermission. The Knights kept the ball on the ground the entire second half. 

Steven Flores knocked through a 24-yard field goal for Johnson. 

“I’m very proud of how we competed tonight and played our brand of football,” Johnson coach Stan Luttrell said.

On Friday, Johnson visits West Hall in the Battle of Oakwood.
