High school basketball scoreboard: East Hall girls edge Dawson County in region game

Carly Winters posted a team-high 14 points in the East Hall High girls basketball team’s 64-61 win against Dawson County on Friday. 

Jenny Lopez had 12 points for the Lady Vikings (8-8, 2-2 Region 7-3A), while teammate Maggie Griffin finished the night with 10 points. East Hall faces Fannin County on Tuesday in Blue Ridge.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 44, TALLULAH FALLS 30: Tori Taylor had 13 points and six rebounds for Lakeview Academy. Sadie Thrailkill had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Lady Lions (8-6, 4-0 Region 8-A). 

Maddie Blackburn contributed seven points for Lakeview Academy, which plays Prince Avenue at 6 p.m. today in Gainesville.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 76, TALLULAH FALLS 60: Lakeview Academy’s Blake McIntyre led way with a double-double, scoring 20 points and dishing out 11 assists. 

Adam Cottrell had 17 points for the Lions (7-5. 4-0 Region 8-A), while teammate Arturo Varela posted 14 points.

Lakeview Academy plays Prince Avenue at 7:30 p.m. today in Gainesville.

BUFORD GIRLS 75, WALNUT GROVE 27: Ce’Asia Johnson scored 15 points for Buford on Friday. 

Tate Walters contributed 11 points for the Lady Wolves (11-2. 4-0 Region 8-5A). Mary Walters and Ebony Grant notched nine points apiece for Buford. Buford visits Johnson at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Gainesville.

MARIST GIRLS 38, CHESTATEE 26: Lindsey Caudell was the leading scorer for Chestatee with 17 points. The Lady War Eagles (6-10) host West Forsyth at 2:30 p.m. today in Gainesville.

CLARKE CENTRAL BOYS 53, FLOWERY BRANCH 45: Justin Quick scored 18 for Flowery Branch, while Joey Nidoy had 11 points for the Falcons. 

Flowery Branch (10-6, 2-2 Region 8-5A) hosts Winder-Barrow at 6:30 p.m. today in Flowery Branch.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 49, ELBERT COUNTY 38: Jaycie Bowen totaled 13 points with six rebounds for Banks County. Allison Smith had 11 points for the Lady Leopards (12-3, 3-0 Region 8-2A).

Banks County plays North Hall at 4 p.m. today in Gainesville.
