High school basketball: Buford girls beat Eagles Landing in Class 5A state quarterfinals

Tory Ozment scored a game-high 19 points for the Buford High girls basketball team as it beat Eagles Landing 50-37 in the Class 5A state quarterfinals Tuesday at the Buford City Arena. 

With the win, the No. 1 Lady Wolves (27-3) will face Villa Rica in the state semifinals at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fort Valley. Buford is the defending state champion in Class 5A and it has won five titles since 2009. 

The Class 5A state championship game will be played at 6 p.m. March 8 at the Macon Centreplex.
