High school baseball: Lakeview Academy sweeps Cherokee Bluff in doubleheader

Sam Stewart picked up the win in relief in Game 1 and Ian Echols threw five hitless innings in the nightcap for Lakeview Academy as it swept Cherokee Bluff 6-5 and 4-2 on Monday in Flowery Branch. 

Andrew Estes threw the first four innings with seven strikeouts for the Lions in the opener, along with a pair of hits and scored twice. Stewart threw a spotless eighth inning for Lakeview Academy, along with adding three hits and drove in three runs. 

Also in Game 1, Parker Allen had three hits, including one to plate the go-ahead run in the eighth inning.

In the nightcap, Echols allowed two earned runs and recorded three strikeouts. 

At the plate, Skyler Thellman and Estes each had two hits and drove in a run.

On Saturday, Lakeview Academy faces West Hall in a doubleheader, starting at 11 a.m.
