Gwinnett bullpen paves the way to 6th straight win

The Gwinnett bullpen tamped down on Toledo for 4 1/3 scoreless innings, setting up a come-from-behind 6-3 win for the G-Braves, the team’s sixth straight victory.

Gwinnett starter Jo-Jo Reyes allowed three runs on four hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings, before giving way to Christian Martinez. Martinez worked 2 1/3 innings yielding a hit and a walk before Stephen Marek struck out the side in the eighth inning and
Michael Dunn pitched the ninth to earn his seventh save.

Matt Young led a 10-hit effort for Gwinnett at the plate, finishing 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles. Diory Hernandez went 2-for-5, stretching his hitting streak to 11 games. Wes Timmons added a two-run home run, and Freddie Freeman had a solo home run.

Gwinnett (40-41) opens a three-game series at first-place Durham at 7 p.m. tonight. Todd Redmond (7-7, 4.22) is scheduled to start for the G-Braves, while Richard De Los Santos (6-3, 4.35) will take the hill for the Bulls.
