Gwinnett Braves rally for win

Clint Sammons hit a grounder to second base in the ninth inning that plated two runs after a throwing error and the Gwinnett Braves rallied from two runs down to win 4-3 over the Columbus Clippers on Monday night in Columbus, Ohio.

Todd Redmond pitched six scoreless innings for Gwinnett (36-42) and Craig Kimbrel closed the game for his ninth save of the season.

Freddie Freeman hit a solo home run in the eighth inning and Matt Diaz, who is three games in to an eight-game rehab assignment, was 0-for-5.

The G-Braves travel to Toledo for a four-game series against the Mud Hens, with today’s game starting at 7 p.m.
