Paced by its top three golfers carding rounds of 73, the Gainesville boys golf team won the Area 2-7A sectionals on Monday at the Cobblestone Golf Club in Acworth. 

Ryan Davidson, Henry Kopydlowski and Brigham Ralston each shot rounds of 1-over par as the Red Elephants carded a 298, winning by four shots over second-place Lambert. 

With the win, Gainesville advances to the two-day Class 7A state championship meet, which it will host starting May 16 at the Chattahoochee Golf Club.
