Georgia sophomore running back Knowshon Moreno has been named a candidate for the 2008 Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s best running back.
Moreno is one of the 43 candidates for the award and one of only five from the Southeastern Conference.
Moreno rushed for three touchdowns in eight carries for the Bulldogs against Georgia Southern last Saturday.
In 2007, Moreno rushed for 1,334 yards and 14 touchdowns, becoming the first Bulldog to rush for more than 100 yards in five consecutive games since Hershel Walker in 1982.
